PIERCE COUNTY, WA - Staff and Administrators of MultiCare are please to announce that John Van Buskirk, DO was recently recognized as the 2009 Home Care Association of Washington’s (HCAW) Physician of the Year.

Dr. Van Buskirk was nominated by MultiCare•Good Samaritan Home Health and Hospice:

“When Dr. John Van Buskirk accepted the job of part-time Hospice Director at MultiCare•Good Samaritan Home Health and Hospice a little over six years ago, no one anticipated where the journey would take him. From the beginning, John’s message and spirit was one of collaboration. Rather than coming in as an expert, John arrived as a member of the team. Since the team has doubled in size, bringing new challenges and opportunities, Dr. Van Buskirk remains the calm center. MultiCare•Good Samaritan Hospice has grown in patient numbers, community reputation, and staff ability since Dr. Van Buskirk became Medical Director.”
