VIDEO: Allenmore nurse wins record prize on 'The Price is Right'
The biggest prize in the history of "The Price is Right" daytime TV game show was won this week by a nurse from MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, Wash.
Sheree Heil, LPN, who works as a surgical tech in the Allenmore operating room, won a $157,300 Audi R8 convertible plus $10,000 in cash. (Watch the video below.)
"Oh, cheese and crackers!" Heil said when host Drew Carey explained the prizes.
"My adrenaline was flowing so high, I was pretty much oblivious," she said Monday in an interview with KIRO radio. "It was like a fog."
Heil bounced with excitement when she first went onstage with Carey, then celebrated her win by screaming, running, jumping and hugging her way around the stage and into the car.
"That's how she is normally," said Lacey Walton, an Operating Room control desk specialist at Allenmore. "She's not always THAT excited, but she's very animated and very fun."
The segment was recorded Dec. 9, and Heil had to keep the secret until the show aired Dec. 30.
On the show, Heil wore a bright pink T-shirt that said, “Bucket List: Price is Right, Come on Down, Spin Wheel."
"My whole family loves the Price is Right and it's been a dream of mine to go to that show," she told KIRO radio. "I just acted a little bit crazy and the next thing you know they call my name. I didn't care if I won or lost. I just wanted to spin the big wheel."
Her co-workers at Allenmore celebrated Heil's big win.
"She is very deserving," Walton said. "She' is wonderful to work with."
