MultiCare adds electronic health records to Auburn Medical Center
MultiCare Auburn Medical Center upgraded to an electronic health record system Oct. 1, exactly one year after joining the team at MultiCare Health System.
Called MultiCare Connect, the Epic electronic health record system securely stores a patient's entire health history, which gives caregivers instant access to the medical information they need to take care of you.
Get MyChart to view and track your health information.
All MultiCare hospitals and outpatient clinics are linked to MultiCare Connect, which eliminates the need for paper records by storing up-to-date medical information such as medications, allergies, test results and hospital visits. MultiCare Connect is a smarter, safer, more efficient way to provide you with outstanding care.
"This is truly a historic moment for our organization, marking the final step of integration between Auburn Medical Center and MultiCare Health System," said Florence Chang, Executive Vice President of MultiCare. "Our providers and clinicians at more than 130 sites of care are now on a single system and a single platform, enabling us to deliver better connected care to our patients and community."
Can I view my health record?
MultiCare patients can view their health record, lab and test results, schedule an appointment or refill prescriptions using a secure patient portal called MyChart (Powered by MultiCare) at home or anywhere they have internet access.
MultiCare Connect offers important benefits:
- Safe and Secure: Your entire health record can be accessed instantly, safely and securely on a computer screen when your health care provider needs it— 24 hours a day.
- Connected Care: Your hospital surgeon can call up the your MultiCare health record and easily consult with your primary care doctor about your care. And if you are ever hospitalized, your information is easily and securely accessible.
- Complete and Comprehensive: Your health care providers have your entire health history—medications, allergies, physician visits and more—at their fingertips.
- Efficient: You no longer need to wait for paper charts to transfer from one MultiCare location to another.

National leader since 1998
The Tacoma-based, not-for-profit MultiCare is one of the few health systems in the nation to have a complete electronic health record system, and annually ranks among the “Most Wired” and “Most Integrated” health care systems in the United States. MultiCare has been at the forefront of this technology with implementation of MultiCare Connect in 1998.
“MultiCare’s electronic health record is a key component in providing the most efficient patient care for the communities we serve,” Chang said. “We are proud of the work we have done during the last decade to create a complete electronic health record for our patients.”
This innovative health record provides you with better coordinated care throughout our system. Whatever MultiCare facility you visit, your providers will all be looking at the same complete, up-to-date health record. They’ll be at your side with your information at their fingertips, ready to answer your questions and explain your treatment options.
MultiCare Connect includes physician order entry, inpatient and outpatient area access, electronic imaging, patient access to records, bedside barcoding and other features that improve the safety and quality of patient care.
MultiCare Health System includes: Tacoma General Hospital, Allenmore Hospital, and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Tacoma, Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, and MultiCare Auburn Medical Center; an Emergency Department at MultiCare Covington Medical Center; as well as more than 100 primary care, specialty care and urgent care clinics in Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap and South King counties in the Puget Sound region of Washington state.
