The MultiCare Health System Board of Directors announced today that William G. “Bill” Robertson will serve as the new President and Chief Executive Officer beginning May 1. The appointment follows a comprehensive, national search by a Search Committee of the Board that began last fall, when longtime MultiCare President and CEO Diane Cecchettini, RN, announced her plans to retire.

On March 26, 2013, MultiCare Health System lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place to protect newborns in the Family Birth Centers. Siblings of any age are allowed to visit the Birth Center, but children younger than 13 who are not siblings of the baby are still restricted. Some restrictions are still in place at Tacoma General's high-risk nurseries, at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, and at the Mary Bridge Pediatric Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Florence Chang has been promoted to Executive Vice President of the not-for-profit MultiCare Health System based in Tacoma, Wash. In this new role, Chang is responsible for inpatient and service operations of MultiCare – the hospitals, programs and services within them, as well as Information Services.
