With a history dating back to 1882, MultiCare is a technologically advanced, locally owned and not-for-profit integrated health care system based in Tacoma, Washington. Our award-winning system is made up of four hospitals, including the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, our tertiary level children's hospital, as well as numerous primary care and urgent care clinics, multispecialty centers, hospice, health home and many other services.

As the area's largest provider of health care services, we serve Pierce, South King, Kitsap and Thurston counties. And right now, we're expanding our services in Tacoma, Puyallup, and Covington where we are building a new hospital in 2014. When you join us, you'll find supportive colleagues, pioneering technology and opportunities to grow and take on new challenges.

Supportive colleagues with a shared philosophy. Safety, care and comfort are all a part of your role in quality.

We are committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care for every stage of life. Here, you'll work alongside other top medical professionals with the most advanced care technologies in a health home setting. You'll use your critical thinking and advocacy skills to take the initiative and you'll be rewarded for making decisions that improve patient care, comfort and recovery.

Pioneering technology

We're dedicated to making patient care seamless and consistent-and making your job easier. Recent technology highlights include the launch of the South Sound's only inpatient-outpatient electronic health record system. In addition, we were the first to pioneer a robotic-assisted surgical program. One of our facilities, Tacoma General, is the first area hospital to offer the world's first image-guided, external-beam radiation therapy system with the Varian Trilogy© Linear Accelerator; Tacoma is also among the first hospitals in the nation to use the FDA-approved Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device.

Opportunities to grow and take on new challenges

We'll help you stay on top of clinical knowledge, health care trends and professional issues. We provide continuing education classes and conferences, tuition reimbursement assistance, certification programs in different specialties and two family practice residency programs. We encourage your involvement in regional, state and national societies to build a connection with our community. And with our new Research and Genomics Institutes, you have the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge clinical research.

The MultiCare Difference: delivering the ideal patient experience

We believe that what we say and do matters. How we interact with our patients, providers and one another sets the tone for our patients' experience, as well as our own. That's why we're dedicated to furthering new developments in patient- and family-centered care in a health home setting that encourages better outcomes for our patients. Every day, we strive to better connect with our patients and provide them with safe care that is focused on superior clinical outcomes and service-while remaining cost effective. Our mission is to:

  • Compassionately provide the best possible care to each of our patients
  • Seek new approaches to improve the quality of care at the best value possible
  • Apply the highest possible standards of professional practice

When we work to do what's best for our patients, we know we've done our best.
