A place with history and an excellent reputation - MultiCare is a leading-edge, locally owned and integrated health care system based in Tacoma, Washington, with a history that goes back to 1882. We are a not-for-profit organization committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care for every stage of life. Our system is made up of four hospitals, numerous primary care and urgent care clinics, multi-specialty centers, hospice, home health and many other services. MultiCare is the area's largest provider of health care services, serving patients in multiple locations throughout Pierce, South King, Kitsap and Thurston counties.
We consistently receive recognition from our peers and our community for the outstanding care we provide. And we are always growing. Currently MultiCare is expanding services in Tacoma and Puyallup.
Better Connected is a promise we make to our patients, our providers and our colleagues. When providers tell us that they're proud to work at MultiCare we hear many of the same reasons over and over again. We're not surprised, they're part of what make us a world-class health care system.

Supportive colleagues with a shared philosophy.
As one of the Northwest's most progressive health care organizations, MultiCare provides world class care for virtually every health need. Whether you're an employed provider or in private practice, you're part of the MultiCare community that collaborates to provide total care for our patients.
Here, you'll gain experience working alongside other top medical professionals, supported by
the most advanced care technologies. You have the freedom to put your critical thinking and
advocacy skills to work. You're encouraged to take initiative, and you're rewarded for making
decisions that improve patient care and recovery.
Our resources allow us to be on the leading edge of health care. Our latest technological achievement, launching MultiCare Connect® - the South Sound's only inpatient-outpatient electronic health record system, and one of the few in the country - is one way we're pioneering technology to make patient care seamless and consistent, and your life easier.
We were the first health system in the region to pioneer a robotic-assisted surgical program in 2005.
Tacoma General is the first hospital in the area to offer the world's first image-guided, external-beam radiation therapy system with the Varian Trilogy® Linear Accelerator, and is among the first hospitals in the nation to use the FDA approved Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device (Impella 2.5), a mini pump that maintains cardiac circulation during high-risk procedures.
We're proud of our commitment to technology and have been recognized on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives and by leading health care technology organizations for our efforts.
Let's talk about how technology will aid your career at MultiCare.
Opportunities to grow and take on new challenges.
We offer a variety of resources that help you stay on top of clinical knowledge, health care trends
and professional issues. Continuing education classes and conferences, tuition reimbursement
assistance, certification programs in different specialties and two in-house residency programs
are available. MultiCare Health System also encourages involvement in regional, state and national societies in order to foster a connection with medical peers, education and community involvement.
Delivering the ideal patient experience, the MultiCare Difference
We achieve optimal outcomes for our patients through exceptional customer service and effective use of human, technological and financial resources. Our mission is to:
- Compassionately provide the best possible care to each of our patients.
- Seek new approaches to improve the quality of care at the best value possible.
- Apply the highest possible standards of professional practice.
MultiCare maintains accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). This aids in maintaining standards that assure safe, quality patient care. We comply with other regulatory bodies including: CMS, DOH, OSHA, WISHA and many others.
What we say and do matters. How we interact with our patients, providers and one another sets the tone for our patients' experience, as well as our own. We strive to make each encounter memorable.
Each employee and physician delivering the ideal patient experience is the MultiCare Difference.
Our actions better connect our patients to care that is safe, focused on superior clinical outcomes
and service, and cost effective. When we work to do what is right for our patients, we know we've
done our best.
Our providers do make a difference: South Sound Magazine recognized eight MultiCare physicians and names several others who have made a difference through their contributions to the communities and patients they serve.
