Being diagnosed with cancer can be frightening. But understanding what’s going on inside your body can help you feel more in control of your disease. Gaining the education to take charge of your health decisions can be a powerful tool for healing.

That's why we offer the following resources for you and your family the Katterhagen Cancer Resource Center at Tacoma General Hospital and Good Samaritan Cancer Resource Center in the Dr. Richard C. Ostenson Cancer Center in Puyallup. Both centers are open to patients, families and anyone looking for a source of cancer-related information.

Patient Orientation Program

Currently offered at MultiCare Regional Cancer Center inside Tacoma General Hospital, this program includes:

  • Introduction to our services
  • Your care team
  • Financial Services
  • How we support you through your treatment and resources available
  • Treatment education for chemotherapy and radiation therapy
  • Rehabilitation: What is it and who needs it?

Healthy Reflections Boutique

Recover your self image and mental wellbeing at Healthy Reflections Boutique. If you are recovering from surgery, or dealing with cancer treatment and recovery, we are here to provide everything you need in a sensitive and professional setting: wigs, skincare products, mastectomy bras, lymphedema items and more.

Cancer Support Groups and Classes

MultiCare offer a wide array of cancer support for patients and families in the form of classes and groups. Many of these classes deliver integrative therapies such as yoga, Pilates, movement/dance, relaxation, caregiver support and more.

Online Cancer Learning Center

A place to find out more about cancer treatments and helpful tips on living with cancer.

The comfort therapy includes Massage and Reiki treatments for patients and caregivers. Available at the Good Samaritan Cancer Resource Center.

Friend to Friend Program

This free program matches newly diagnosed cancer patients with cancer survivors of similar diagnosis and treatment. If you are a new patient and want to connect with a survivor or if you are a survivor who would like to give support to a new patient, this program may fill your needs. We have trained survivors and Caregivers.

Healthy Steps - Dance Movement Class

An exercise class designed to address concerns of lymphedema for breast cancer survivors. The class is open to any female with any diagnosis of cancer.
