Why Join the Tree House Club?
When a child is sick, there is no better medicine than Mom and Dad.
Studies have shown that families at the bedside can shorten hospital stays for little patients. At Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Tacoma General Hospital, we have seen this firsthand, time and again.
This is why together we created “Tree House, A Place for Families” where parents can stay while their
critically ill children are in our care. The Tree House lifts family‑centered care to a new, extraordinary level in our community, and your support is crucial to its success.
This 4-story, 43-bed facility just a block from Mary Bridge and Tacoma General is a sanctuary of renewal and hope where families can relax with others facing similar fears and anxieties.
The Tree House’s huge kitchen is a natural gathering place. Seven families can cook at once, with a large dining area and a great room just steps away. What’s cookin’? Reassurance, understanding, relief, determination and hope, as parents listen and sometimes share priceless pearls of wisdom shaped by direct experience.
The result? Relaxed and centered parents who are ready to provide warmth, comfort and positive care as they visit their premature babies or sick toddlers.
A night’s stay at Tree House costs approximately $70. Young, struggling families pay nothing, and others pay just $20 per night or less. Your gift can offset the difference so that Tree House can continue its important, healing work.
Love is essential medicine in the life of a sick child. Mom and Dad can deliver it. Please help make sure they can be with their child, at their best, when it counts. Join the club today by donating to the annual giving club, ensuring that Tree House, A Place for Families, is here for when families need it.
