Good Samaritan Hospital Community Benefits Report
Since the early 1950’s, when Good Samaritan Hospital began caring for patients in Puyallup, there has been a focus on providing essential care to the community through programs and services that fulfill specific health care needs. As our community has grown, so has Good Samaritan. In 2006, we joined MultiCare Health System to form MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital. This partnership has provided us the opportunity to build a new Patient Care Tower in Puyallup with a new Emergency Department, surgery suites and two floors of private patient rooms, scheduled to open in early 2011.
And through the years, our commitment to the community has not wavered. We continue to look for ways to engage in our community and provide valuable resources to further the health of our residents.
The following Community Benefits report outlines our on-going support of East Pierce County in 2008-2009. It is a snapshot of the various Good Samaritan programs and services available to our community residents.
