Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery

MultiCare has orthopedic surgeons and care teams that specialize in diagnosing and treating hip conditions. Our surgeons perform minimally invasive hip surgery including hip arthroscopy and small incision hip replacement surgery, at our Surgical Care Center at Tacoma General Hospital, the Surgery Center at Good Samaritan Hospital and at Allenmore Hospital.

Traditional hip replacement surgery typically involves a procedure leaving patients with a 12 to 18 inch scar and a hospital stay of up to three to five days. However, you may be a candidate for minimally invasive hip replacement surgery. This technique uses the same implants as traditional hip replacement surgery, but permits surgeons to make a much smaller incision.

Minimally invasive hip surgery offers a number of patient benefits including smaller incisions and scars, shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery times, reduced post-operative pain and reduced risk of complications.
