ALL CLEAR: Cleaning chemicals mix in drain at Good Samaritan
An accidental mix of chemicals in a drain caused a small group of patients to be moved this morning from an area of the third floor at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
The hospital and Emergency Department are open.
Fourteen people were evaluated in the Emergency Department for respiratory issues. That included 12 staff members, one patient and one visitor. All are expected to be OK.
Crews from MultiCare Health System and Central Piece Fire & Rescue assessed multiple areas in the hospital. They determined that the hospital is clear.
The 286-bed hospital is at 401 15th Ave. S.E. Puyallup, Wash.
