April is National Donate Life Month, a time to commemorate those who have received or continue to wait for lifesaving organ, eye and tissue transplants. More than 2,000 people in the state of Washington and 115,000 people in the United States are awaiting lifesaving organ transplants. How to prevent norovirus infection

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says a new strain of norovirus, often mistakenly referred to as "stomach flu," has caused more than 140 outbreaks since September. But, no need to panic yet. Most norovirus infections are mild and pass in a few days.

Heart test that saved baby in Tacoma recommended for all newborns
A baby's heart defect was detected thanks to a painless test offered to newborns at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital. "I feel very lucky that we decided to do the test. I feel very lucky that we were at Tacoma General," the boy's mother told KING 5 TV. "I think the stars aligned. Somebody was looking out for us, for him, and it essentially saved his life."
