MultiCare Regional Heart & Vascular Center gives people across the region access to some of the most sophisticated facilities available. We not only incorporate the latest medical technology, but also embrace the most advanced thinking about making the experience comfortable and convenient for patients and families.
The Center’s Tacoma General Heart Hospital combines advanced medical technology with current thinking on patient care, safety and comfort, and is the first in the region to create a cardiac care model in line with the national trend of clustering all heart and vascular services in one location.
Services available at the heart hospital include cardiac and vascular operating suites, digital cardiac catheterization labs, brand new cardiovascular intensive care and coronary care units, and a chest pain cardiovascular short stay unit.
Patient rooms in the cardiovascular intensive care and coronary care units are designed to enhance wellness, recovery, safety and efficiency. The rooms are much larger than the typical patient room, accommodating friends and family—even providing space for a sleeper sofa, so loved ones can stay overnight. Large windows provide the rooms with natural light, as well as clear views of the surrounding Pacific Northwest scenery. Natural light has been has been shown in studies to aid in healing and recovery.
The Tacoma General Heart Hospital also houses all cardiac diagnostic, rehabilitation and prevention programs, including a heart failure clinic.
With its cardiac catheterization laboratory, Good Samaritan Hospital provides care to adult patients who have cardiovascular, electrophysiological and vascular illnesses.
The cardiac catheterization lab makes it more convenient for east Pierce County residents with some cardiovascular diseases to receive the majority of their care closer to home.
Good Samaritan‘s cardiac catheterization lab performs both diagnostic procedures and emergency interventional procedures. The cardiac catheterization lab enables Good Samaritan‘s medical staff to fully treat most heart attack victims.
