The 25th Anniversary of Festival of Trees continued the tradition of celebrating the lifesaving efforts of Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and Health Center by further supporting the hospital's critical care services for the families of our region. In addition, the Festival provided a series of community events to launch the holiday season.
REVENUES IN EXCESS OF $1.52 MILLION. Festival's contributions to Mary Bridge over the last 25 years now total over $20.73 million.
Over 12,000 people attended the 2011 Festival of Trees, enjoying one of the three public days or five private celebrations.
More than 50 year-round planning committees, consisting of over 300 volunteers, attended to the preparation of the event. More than 1,500 volunteers worked during Festival week at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, contributing over 50,000 hours of service.
Gala Auction & Dinner, sponsored by J.R. Abbott Construction, attracted a crowd of over 600, and generated auction revenues of $773,000 including more than $250,000 in Fund-an-item contributions.
JingleBell Jam, sponsored by CB Richard Ellis, hosted nearly 350 guests to an exciting evening of dinner, an auction, and dancing until midnight to the sounds of Dance Factory. Gross auction revenues over $130,000 including $37,000 for the operation costs of Tree House A Place for Families.
Festival's newest event, Ladies Night Out, sponsored by Cascade Regional Blood Services and Protiviti, enjoyed a sold out crowd for its third straight year. This over 21 ladies inspired event included a night of beverages, wine tasting, savory and sweet appetizers, beauty, home decor and fashion tips and, of course, shopping and fun at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center and raised almost $70,000.
Led by Associated Petroleum Products, Propel Insurance, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Emerald Queen Casino and the Tacoma Orthopedic Association, Festival received corporate sponsorship support from local, regional and national businesses. Festival major sponsors contributed more than $250,000 in cash to the event.
Over 100 local businesses, organizations, and individuals gave more than $190,000 cash to fund Festival's 67 beautiful trees. Hundreds of generous donors contributed to over $200,000 in in-kind donations to make the event a success.
