Bereavement Support Services
All of the services below are available to you at no cost. For information regarding these and other services, please contact the Bereavement Coordinator/counselor, at 253-459-8388.
Skilled Counseling: We offer individual appointments, on a short-term basis, to explore your experiences and concerns surrounding your loss.
Written Contacts: Periodically, after your loss, we will be in touch with you by mail, sharing resources and information about grief and loss.
Strong at the Broken Places—A Grief Support Group: Four times a year we offer this 8-week support group. This is an opportunity to meet with other adults who have experienced the death of a loved one and explore ways of understanding and coping with life's changes.
Trained Bereavement Volunteers: Volunteers, trained in issues of grief and loss, are available to you. If you choose, they are in touch by phone, or in person, during the course of the first year of loss, to offer support.
Family Support Luncheon: This quarterly no-host luncheon offers the opportunity for you to connect with others who have used the services of hospice. It's a memory-filled time of sharing food and also reconnecting with some of the hospice team.
Day of Remembrance: This event is held each year at the Pagoda at Point Defiance. It is a service that celebrates the lives of all those individuals we have had the privilege to support during the course of the year.
Grief and the Holidays Seminar: This seminar offers practical information and ideas about how to care for yourself and your family during this special and difficult time of year.
Community Referral: If you are looking for grief support services in your area, out of town, or out of state, we can assist you in making connections.
