With the development of new technologies and medication and other medical advances, the face of disability is changing for the pediatric population. During this session we will explore what those changes are and what the changing needs of this population are.

Wednesday March 4, 2009

Part 1: Efficiency, effectiveness, and efficacy: As money becomes tighter and insurance companies are becoming stricter with reimbursement, it is crucial that the therapies we provide are efficient, effective, and efficacious. In this session we will cover the ‘how’ and ‘what’ of the three E’s. How often should we be providing services and what are the most effective services delivery models? The most recent literature regarding these topics will be discussed.

Part 2: Efficiency, effectiveness, and efficacy: In this session we will cover the “where’ and ‘who’ of the three E’s. Where should therapies be provided and who should be involved in providing those services? The most recent literature regarding these topics will be discussed.

Tuesday May 5, 2009

Evidence Based Practice: As evidence based practice is being more sought after, as therapists we are now being required to provide evidence for the therapies we provide. How do we find that research and what should we look for in good research? How should we let that research affect our practice and how do we incorporate those standards?
