NRP Provider Course
9/14/2012 9:30am - 1:30pm
The AAP and AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program provides participants the
skills and knowledge to successfully resuscitate neonates following
delivery in the hospital or care setting. The content of the program
reflects evidence-based medicine and is taught in a problem-based
learning format, designed to enhance the learner’s confidence and
emphasize the role of teamwork in a successful neonatal resuscitation.
The provider course is designed for professionals who will self-study
the required content from the Neonatal Resuscitation Textbook, 6th
edition (2011) and CD-ROM lessons. Successful completion of the
on-line examination is required (before) participants attend the
classroom portion of the course. Participants will be prompted to print a
Certificate of Completion that you must bring to class and present to
the instructor to be eligible for a course completion card. Learners
must attend a scheduled classroom portion of their NRP course within 30
days of completing the on-line examination.
To successfully complete the course, participants must pass the required
lessons of the on-line examination, demonstrate mastery of
resuscitation skills in the Integrated Skills Station, and participate
in simulated resuscitation scenarios, as determined by the course
instructor(s). Please keep in mind that it takes about 90 min. to
complete the on-line exam.
