Ark Angels Support Group

Support and Information for Parents of Special Needs Children

We meet, we chat, and we go home fortified with great information and the knowledge that we are not alone. In return, we’re able to be stronger parents and better advocates for our children. So please, come join us and share your experience with us.

Guest Speaker & Topic

Jennifer Laible - Special Education Teacher

Jennifer Laible is going to present on IEP’s (Individual Education Plan’s) for the Ark Angels Shoulder to Shoulder Parent Support Group for the March 13th meeting.

Agenda includes:

  • Introduction:  Her background with IEPs
  • Give overview of presentation.
  • Discuss components of a good IEP goal.
  • Brainstorm goal ideas parents may have for their child at home.
  • Parents write their own goal
  • Parents share goal with group (if they want)
  • Discuss how objectives help to reach IEP goal
  • Brainstorm objective ideas
  • Place goals on tables or post on walls in room, parents go around writing possible objectives/ideas for goals
  • Share out again
  • Parents leave with a solid goal to help their child at home today with objective steps to reach that goal.


Plan ahead for April 10th support group session when we talk about Behavior Management issues with Betty Mann, Behavioral Management Specialist
