MultiCare Health System

What is TFM?

Community

cultural and ethnic backgrounds including African-American, Hispanic, Samoan/Pacific Islander, Russian, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Sudanese and Chinese. Residents learn to consider the social, spiritual, cultural and psychological values of each patient and incorporate consideration of these factors in their medical care.

International

Graduating residents are competent to provide a full scope of practice for their patients in under-served communities both here and abroad. These populations are in rural areas, urban centers and third world countries -- and many have similar health care needs.

Community Involvement

TFM residents also contribute time and energy to a wide variety of community-based projects including:

Members of the TFM Relay For Life Team, an annual fund-raising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society to increase cancer awareness.

Volunteer physicians for the YMCA Cardiac Rehab Program.

Volunteers for the Festival of Trees – a fundraiser for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.

Annual participation in the Tar Wars Program educating 4th and 5th grade students about the short and long-term effects of smoking.
