Event Information/FAQ

How to register:

**Registration forms will be available at The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse, Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce office, and Good Samaritan Foundation. NOTE: registration forms can be turned into The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse and Good Samaritan Foundation only until Thursday, October 6th at 5:00pm

FUNDRAISING:

While Come Walk With Me does not require participants to fundraise, it is most certainly encouraged. Pleae check back for fundraising minimums and incentive information.

Registration Fees:

• $20 adults ages 13+ pre-registration (ends October 3)
• $10 youth ages 5-12 pre-registration (ends October 3)
• Free: Children 4 and under
• $30 adults ages 13+ day of walk
• $15 youth ages 5-12 day of walk

Event Schedule

• 7:30am: Day of Registration opens, Drawing
• 8:00am: Pre-registration check-in opens
• 8:30am: Kids 50 yard dash (FREE, up to 10 years old) 
• 8:50am: Motorcycle Ride begins
• 9:00am: Walk begins
• 9:20-10:30am: Breakfast Show, Silent Auction
The fun doesn't stop there; Captain Jack's has partnered with us on the Drink Pink After Party. Enjoy live music, half price drinks and appetizers. We are keeping the pink spirit alive all day long!

How do the people who support me with monetary donations get acknowledged?

Anyone who donates online, either to your personal fundraising page or just make a general donation to the event, receives an acknowledgement for their generous gift via an email. If you are filling out the hardcopy pledge form and collecting checks and credit card information from the donors, please click here to print out a donation receipt for your donors.

Strollers and Dogs:

Strollers are allowed; please be aware there are spots of gravel and rough terrain along the route. 
Dogs are welcome, but must be on leashes.

Parking:

Give yourself enough time to park! Parking at The Old Cannery is reserved for customers. If you are running or walking please park at the Sumner train station or along any of the city streets, except Main Street, which is where the event is happening. We encourage motorcycle ride participants to park at Captain Jack's, across the street from the The Old Cannery.

Event Shirts:

All pre-registered walkers will receive a long sleeve event participant shirt; pre-registration ends Thursday, October 3rd at noon. Walker shirts are included in the registration fee for all PRE-REGISTERED participants. You must be present to receive your shirt. Shirts for late registrants and day-of-race registrants MAY be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children 5 and under will not be provided an event shirt.

Beneficiary:

Come Walk With Me raises funds to support the free/reduced fee mammography program, provide community education and outreach in an effort to save lives and ease the journey for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients by providing support services.

Who is eligible for the Kids 50 yard dash?

All children 10 and under can participate in the Kids 50 yard dash for free. Kids participating the Kids Dash, do not need to check-in at the event; the DJ will make an announcement for all kids to line up at the bridge (corner of Traffic and Main). The Kids Dash participants receive a pink cape and medal.

Is my registration fee tax deductible?

The fair market value of each $20 registration fee is $8 and each $15 registration fee is $6; the balance of your registration may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax professional. Registration fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Tax #91-2004312.

Clothing Check?

October mornings can be quite chilly; wear extra layers prior to the race while checking-in and browsing Vendor Village. Clothing check will be available for you to leave your extra layers during the walk and pick up afterward.

The Breakfast Show will begin around 9:20am; there will be pink pancakes, juice, fruit and entertainment!

Can I run?

Yes, of course, run to your heart's desire. However, please be aware that there are no timing chips and no awards given at this event.

how do i sign up for the motorcycle ride?

Click here to register for Come Ride With Me, the event sponsored motorcycle ride. The ride will occur on event day, October 8th; participating bikers will line up near the bridge at The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse to begin their ride at 8:50am.

Come Walk With Me is a fun walk for everyone to support breast health programs; no awards will be given.
