Foot
The foot has 26 bones and 33 joints; like the hand, this number of bones makes up one-fourth of all the
bones in our bodies. The bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles of the foot have a big job as they support our entire body and aid in proper posture and alignment through all of our activities.
Some problems with the foot, like Claw Toes and Hammer Toes, are related to ill-fitting shoes. Other problems, such as plantar fasciitis, have been with us for a long time. Broken toes and stress fractures of the foot are also common problems. Many foot problems are the result of sports or other physical activities that stress the bones and joints.
