What is MultiCare Gives?
MultiCare Gives is an opportunity for employees and volunteers to provide additional support to our patients and their families.
Why does MultiCare need my support?
The campaign is the perfect opportunity for you to show your support for a program that will directly benefit patients that might not otherwise be funded. You will witness the results of your giving whether it is helping fund a program or supporting patients directly.
You experience our patients’ needs and witness the struggles they face every day. And when you give to MultiCare Gives, you give a gift that directly benefits patients. Through your support, you help to create smiles and hope at times when stress levels are high.
Why should I give when I already volunteer here, isn't that enough?
MultiCare values and respects all volunteers for their hard work, tremendous dedication and commitment to our patients. We sincerely thank you for all that you do, and please understand there is no obligation for volunteers to participate in MultiCare Gives.
We know, because of the interest expressed by volunteers, that many of you have a personal calling or desire to help more. MultiCare Gives provides an opportunity for volunteers to join their colleagues and together maximize the impact of their gifts.
How will my donation be used?

Who will know I donated?
Imagine the impact of your gift when combined with gifts from your MultiCare colleagues. One way to visualize that impact is to see your name among many others on a donor list viewable on the MultiCare Volunteer Services website. If you prefer, you may remain anonymous or you may give in memory or honor of someone else. Participation in MultiCare Gives is completely voluntary. Your pledge form and credit card information will be handled confidentially by the Foundations of MultiCare.
Can my gift be anonumous?
Yes, when making your donation, you will have the option to remain anonymous. If you select this option, your name will not appear on any donor lists or annual reports.
Is my gift tax deductable?
Yes, your gift to MultiCare Gives is tax-deductible if you itemize your deductions.
When I give a gift via monthly credit card payment, how long will it be collected?
You choose the duration of your donation. You may donate to MultiCare Gives for one year or until you choose to end the pledge. A pledge can be amended or cancelled at any time. You do not need to give a reason for amendments or cancellations.
What is the Hour Club, and do I have to give at this level?
We hope you will consider joining the Hour Club. Hour Club members donate $25 per month or $300 per year. Every gift matters. You may choose to give whatever amount you want. We appreciate everything that you already do for our patients.
May I choose to give my gift in honor or memory of someone?
Yes, this option is on the MultiCare Gives pledge form. Honored and memorialized names will be included on the donor list on the volunteer website.
If I donate, how much of each dollar is used for administrative costs?
None. Every penny of your donation goes directly to the cause you select. MultiCare Health System pays all administrative costs associated with fundraising.
Is there recogition for my gift?
Absolutely. As a participant in MultiCare Gives you will receive:
- MultiCare Gives Member Level (any level gift):
- A specially designed MultiCare Gives lanyard in system colors or a retractable badge holder.
- Your name on the MultiCare Gives donor list on the volunteer website, unless you choose to give anonymously.
- MultiCare Gives Hour Club Level ($25 per month or $300 per year) All of the above plus:
- A colorful pin featuring the MultiCare Gives logo.
- An insulated ceramic beverage mug.
- Vouchers for 52 free beverages. Beverages include regular drip coffee or tea and can be redeemed at any MultiCare cafeteria or express deli.
Your gift may also qualify you to be invited into our current hospital giving clubs:
- Bridge Builders — Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Center.
- Circle of Caring — Tacoma General and Allenmore Hospitals, and all clinics.
- White Coat Society — Good Samaritan Hospital.
