Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Services

Pregnant Mother Holding StomachWIC is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant / breastfeeding Women, Infants, and Children under age 5.

Services:

WIC provides nutritious foods, plus other benefits, free of charge to eligible families. Among the services offered at our eleven MultiCare WIC sites in Pierce County, there is nutritional & breastfeeding support including tips on keeping you and your family healthy. We will also provide referrals to medical and dental providers along with a variety of other community resources. 

WIC Serves:

  • Pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding women up to 1 year after delivery
  • Postpartum women up to 6 months after delivery
  • Infants
  • Children up to age 5 years


**Participants must reside in Washington State and meet these household income guidelines.

WIC Provides Monthly Checks for Nutritious Foods, including:


  •  Milk
  •  Iron-Fortified Cereal
  •  Peanut Butter
  •  Dried Beans
  •  Cheese
  •  Fruits & Vegetables
  •  Eggs
  •  Juice
  •  Whole Grains
  •  Canned Tuna/Salmon
    (Breastfeeding Moms Only)
  •  Infant Formula
    (For Infants Requiring a Breast Milk Substitute)
  •  Baby Cereal & Strained Baby Foods


Call our friendly staff at a WIC location near you to schedule an appointment.

WIC Little Girl Drinking MilkThe appointment will take ~30-45 minutes. Bring identification, proof of income, and proof of residency.  WIC staff will talk with you and fill out the information needed. Eligible clients get WIC checks for food on the day of their appointment. No waiting!
