The core of the diabetes education program is a 12-hour comprehensive course on managing diabetes, designed for adults in a group setting. Individual appointments available for adults and children. Services are offered at Allenmore Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital and various clinic locations.
Dr. Richard C. Ostenson Cancer Center at Good Samaritan
The Dr. Richard C. Ostenson Cancer Center at Good Samaritan embraces a holistic, patient-centered style of cancer care. Within steps, patients are in touch with medical services including chemotherapy, radiation treatment, access to clinical trials, infusions, diagnostic imaging, home health and hospice, symptom management, and offers support services including an education and resource center, nutritional counseling, psychosocial programs, support groups, pastoral care and a lending library.
Comfortable private birthing suites, family and childbirth education and an acclaimed neonatal intensive care unit make up the Family Birth Centers at Good Samaritan Hospital and Tacoma General Hospital.
Good Samaritan Children’s Therapy Unit
Good Samaritan Children’s Therapy Unit (CTU) helps infants, children and adolescents who have special needs. Children are referred to the CTU because of developmental concerns or for treatment of conditions such as cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorders, genetic syndromes, autism spectrum disorders, muscular dystrophy, neurobehavioral disorders, arthrogryposis, limb deficiencies, Erb’s palsy and hearing impairments. Expert care is provided by a team of pediatric specialists that includes physical, occupational and speech/language therapists, psychologists, physicians and technicians.

Good Samaritan Surgery Center Interventional Pain Management Program
The practice goals include utilizing safe, effective, and minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to mitigate pain, improve function, and decrease reliance on medications.
Home Services brings care to patients at home, from advanced infusion therapy to wound care, from phototherapy to diabetes education. Services include Good Samaritan Home Health, MultiCare Home Health and Mary Bridge Infusion and Specialty Services.
Hospice Care
With a focus on comfort and care, compassionate professionals work with patients, their caregivers, and physicians to meet the challenges and changes that occur when curative treatments are no longer effective or wanted. Services are provided through MultiCare Hospice and Palliative Care and Good Samaritan Hospice.
MultiCare Neuroscience Center of Washington
The one-stop outpatient neuroscience center provides neurological patients with specialized treatment for disorders involving the brain, spine and nervous system. Facility features include computerized biofeedback equipment for evaluating and treating balance disorders, 3-D computer imaging for studying tumors and planning surgery, a Sleep Disorders Center, rehabilitation programs, lab services and more.
MultiCare Regional Cancer Center
The cancer center includes everything from community-based prevention and early detection programs to home health and hospice, progressive treatment options to pioneering research. Services are available at Tacoma General Hospital, Allenmore Hospital and Covington MultiCare Clinic. The MultiCare Regional Cancer Center is affiliated with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
MultiCare Regional Heart & Vascular Center
The state-of-the-art heart center offers new procedures such as endoscopic vein harvesting and minimally invasive techniques for selected cardiac surgeries. The comprehensive services span prevention to diagnosis, treatment to rehabilitation. Services are available at Good Samaritan Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital, Allenmore Hospital and Covington MultiCare Clinic, and through Home Services.
MultiCare Center For Healthy Living
Classes and programs teach people how to live a healthy lifestyle through nutrition, exercise, weight management, smoking cessation and stress reduction.
Employers can use MultiCare HealthWorks to help identify workplace risks and to manage workers' injuries. Services include injury treatment, drug screening, employment physicals, immunizations and worksite safety and ergonomic programs. Offered at Fife MultiCare Clinic and Gig Harbor MultiCare Clinic.
Good Samaritan Hospital and Tacoma General Hospital offer kyphoplasty, a successful new procedure to treat the effects of osteoporosis. Hand therapy, joint replacement and spinal surgery also are available.
Through Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Center, children receive special care in a state-designated pediatric trauma center, full-service surgical center, outpatient specialty clinics and a developmental services program. MultiCare's outreach services for kids also address childhood safety, child abuse intervention and preventive care.
Comprehensive outpatient and inpatient surgical services are offered at six locations: Allenmore Hospital, Covington Day Surgery Center, Day Surgery of Tacoma, Good Samaritan Hospital, Mary Bridge Hospital & Health Center, and Tacoma General Hospital.
Transfusion Free Medical and Surgical Program
The mission of the Transfusion Free Medical and Surgical Program is to provide quality, effective healthcare while respecting the dignity and values of all persons, as well as their individual beliefs.
Trauma Care
Tacoma General Hospital is a designated adult Level 2 trauma facility to care for the most critically injured patients in our community. Trauma duty rotates with St. Joseph Hospital every other day at 7am. Mary Bridge Children's Hospital is the Level 2 pediatric trauma center for all of Tacoma, Pierce County and southwest Washington. Good Samaritan Hospital is a designated adult Level 3 trauma center.
