New Employee Orientation Checklist
Please bring the following items with you to New Employee Orientation (NEO). These items verify your legal right to work for MultiCare and ensure that you will be paid in a timely manner. Good Samaritan new hires will have already completed benefits and compensation documentation.

  • I-9 documentation. A social security card and driver’s license are the most common forms of documentation. A complete list of approved documents is included with this letter.
  • Voided check (checking) or deposit slip (savings) for the bank account that will receive your paychecks.
  • Original licenses, certifications or registrations if applicable.
  • Health Care Provider CPR Card (required).

What to Expect at New Employee Orientation
NEO is your first day of work.
  • The day will begin with you checking in and finding your seat.
  • MultiCare Pre new hires will check in at Jackson Hall and have your picture taken for your employee badge.
  • Good Samaritan new hires will check in at the Education Classroom and may have already had badge photos before arriving at NEO.
  • You will be welcomed by the facilitators who are available all day to coordinate guest speakers, lead discussions and answer your questions.
  • Speakers will share information related to company policies, how to get paid, benefits, history, community involvement, standards, health issues and JHACO requirements.
  • Light snacks, coffee and tea are provided throughout the day.
  • As the rooms are quite large, prepare for the day by wearing clothing that you can layer depending on the temperature.

Dress Code
Our organization has business casual guidelines for all employees. As NEO is your first day of work, please come dressed in business casual attire. If you have questions, please contact either your manager or the Human Resources office. Once you complete NEO, depending on your role, you may have specific attire, such as scrubs, department issued logo attire, etc. Please check with your manager as to what your role requires. A good rule to follow is “when in doubt, leave it out”. Business casual or scrubs are appropriate for Patient Services Orientation as well. Please no jeans or flip flops.
