New Employee Orientation Checklist

You may have already completed the following new hire paperwork with HR prior to NEO. Please bring the documentation with you to NEO in case there is a question. These items verify your legal right to work for MultiCare and ensure that you will be paid in a timely manner.

  • I-9 documentation. A social security card and driver’s license are the most common forms of documentation. A complete list of approved documents was given to all new hires by HR.
  • Voided check (checking) or deposit slip (savings) for the bank account that will receive your paychecks.
  • Original licenses, certifications or registrations if applicable.
  • Health Care Provider CPR Card (if required for role).

What to expect at New Employee Orientation

NEO is your first day of work. Dress code is business casual, no jeans.

  • The day will begin with you checking in and finding your assigned seat.
  • Check in will be at Jackson Hall in Tacoma and the Cascade Room in Puyallup.

Your recruiter will let you know where your orientation will be and if your NEO day is at a different location. Dates, locations and directions are also available from the Quick Links on the right side of this page.

  • If you have not already taken your badge picture, your photograph will be taken and delivered to you by the end of NEO.
  • You will be welcomed by facilitators from the Institute for Learning and Development, (ILD) MultiCare’s internal education department, who will be available all day to coordinate guest speakers, lead discussions and answer your questions.
  • You will receive information and schedules if you will be attending System Technology Orientation classes and or Patient Services Orientation classes in the days following NEO as part of your MultiCare orientation.
  • Speakers will share information related to company policies, regulations, history, culture, community involvement, standards, safety, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Morning snacks, coffee, tea and afternoon refreshments will be provided.
  • As the rooms are quite large, prepare for the day by wearing clothing that you can layer depending on the temperature.
