(AUBURN)—The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce has recognized MultiCare Health System as the “Chamber Member of the Year.” MultiCare was chosen out of over 500 chamber members in good standing.

The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes a business or organization for their outstanding support of the community and “Connecting people to success,” the mission of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce.

MultiCare is an advocate of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce, directly supporting the Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound for several years. MultiCare also supports the Chamber’s Career Fair, annual banquet and holiday auction.

In addition, Karen Graham, director of MultiCare’s South King County Clinics, serves on the Chamber’s board of directors and the board of regents for the Leadership Institute.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by the Chamber,” said Graham. “MultiCare is strongly committed to the communities we serve and believes in making them stronger and healthier.”

MultiCare first came to Auburn in 1998. Since then, MultiCare has opened the Auburn MultiCare Urgent Care Center and will be opening an oncology clinic in early 2009, which will include diagnosis and chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients. MultiCare is the exclusive south Puget Sound network affiliate of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
