Dr. Claire Spain-Remy
Dr. Spain-Remy to oversee MultiCare Medical Associates
Dr. Claire Spain-Remy has been promoted to Senior Vice President of MultiCare Medical Associates at MultiCare Health System.
Dr. Spain-Remy, an obstetrician and gynecologist, has served in several medical leadership roles including most recently as the Medical Vice President for Specialty Care for MultiCare Medical Associates for more than 4 years. In that position, she oversaw adult specialty physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
In her new role, she will work with all employed providers and their practice staff and management at MultiCare Health System to ensure patients receive coordinated care throughout the network of hospitals, clinics and community-based services in the South Sound.
Dr. Spain-Remy earned her medical degree from Duke University and completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Madigan Army Medical Center.
After serving as a medical staff officer in Seoul, Korea, she returned to Madigan Army Medical Center where she was faculty member in the OB-GYN residency program. After leaving the military, she served as a member of the faculty of the Tacoma Family Medicine residency and OB Access Fellowship program. In 1995, Dr. Spain-Remy opened a community practice in Tacoma, which she led as the managing member for 12 years. She also served in several elected medical staff leadership roles including the Chief of Staff for Tacoma General Hospital and Allenmore Hospital.
Dr. Spain-Remy received her master’s of medical management at University of Southern California in 2010 and is a member of the American College of Physician Executives. She is also a senior fellow in the American Leadership Forum, where she has served as a member or the Board and Program Committee.
Dr. Spain-Remy served for five years as a gubernatorial appointed Trustee of Pierce College District. She has also served as a member of the MultiCare Health Foundation.
