For 16th year, Tacoma General Hospital wins Consumer Choice Award
For the 16th year, consumers in Pierce County have chosen MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital as a top destination for health care, according to the largest and most comprehensive consumer study of U.S. health care.
MultiCare Tacoma General ranks No. 1 as one of the region’s preferred choices for health care, according to the 2013-2014 Consumer Choice Award, chosen by local residents surveyed by National Research Corporation.
When asked to name their most-preferred hospital, people chose MultiCare Tacoma General based on criteria such as:
- Best Doctors
- Best Nurses
- Best Reputation
- Best Overall Quality
Winning hospitals from around the United States are highlighted in the current issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.
The award is a vote of confidence in MultiCare’s commitment to being the region’s trusted provider of health care. MultiCare Tacoma General provides Level 2 Adult Trauma Services, an expanded Emergency Department, Heart Hospital, Birth Center and Level III NICU, and Tacoma’s only Baby-Friendly Hospital, as certified by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital first received the Consumer Choice Award in 1996.
For the study, National Research surveyed more than 270,000 households from September 2012 to August 2013.
