Forbes Magazine Recognizes MultiCare as a Fit-Friendly Company
(TACOMA)--MultiCare Health System was recently featured in Forbes® Magazine as recipient of the American Heart Association recognition as a Gold Level Start! Fit-Friendly Company.
Start! Fit-Friendly Company recognition program is a national movement from the American Heart Association that calls on all Americans and their employers to create a culture of physical activity and health to live longer, heart-healthier lives through walking. Companies earn recognition by implementing physical activity practices.
MultiCare Center For Healthy Living’s successful Healthy @ Work employee wellness program at MultiCare’s Tacoma hospitals and clinics in Pierce and South King counties provided nutrition and exercise challenges to employees and the chance to win prizes for participating.
“It is wonderful to be recognized in the national media for our employee fitness efforts,” said Lori Tanner, Director of the MultiCare Center For Healthy Living. “Our team works hard to get employees invested in their own health and many of them have successfully taken on this challenge.”
MultiCare is a leading-edge, integrated health organization made up of four hospitals, numerous primary care and urgent care clinics, multi-specialty centers, Hospice and Home Health services, and many other services. A not-for-profit organization based in Tacoma, Washington since 1882, MultiCare has grown over the years in response to community needs. Today we are the area's largest provider of health care services, serving patients at 93 locations in Pierce, South King, Kitsap and Thurston counties.
