MultiCare.org honored with national website award
MultiCare Health System’s website was honored among the best health care Internet sites in the nation at the 2011 eHealthcare Leadership Awards.
MultiCare’s website, www.multicare.org, received an award of Distinction for “Best Overall Internet Site” in the Healthcare System division. Sites receiving the awards were selected from nearly 1,200 entries. This is the second year in a row and the third time overall that the site received this award.
Award recipients were recognized in November in Orlando during the 15th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, a national gathering that focuses on the ways innovative health care organizations use the Internet and technology to achieve their objectives.
Winning websites met criteria that included pleasing design, ease of navigation, extensive interactive content that has a business purpose, e-business that delivers a return on investment, and the right information for the right audience.
For Best Overall Internet Site, judges also considered delivery of strong health content, interactivity, medical care support and integration with the organization's operations.
The website was designed by MultiCare and built by SiteCrafting of Tacoma.
The 2011 eHealthcare Leadership Awards highlight the Internet's role in achieving an organization's business objectives and recognize the hard work that has gone into creating outstanding health websites. Websites were rated based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compare with others in their group classification.
“Despite the challenging economic environment, organizations have continued to explore and invest in digital communications,” says Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. “A significant number of organizations have made major improvements in their websites, expanded involvement in social media, more fully integrated traditional marketing with new media vehicles, and initiated mobile efforts to better serve current and future customers”
