MultiCare's Healthy@Work Receives Pierce County WorkWell Award
MultiCare was honored with a WorkWell Gold Designation. MultiCare implemented the Healthy@Work employee wellness program, which is a mission to prevent chronic illness and promote healthy
lifestyles through behavior change. Onsite exercise classes are conducted; an online health profile and free cholesterol and glucose screenings are provided. A delivery program with Wildly Organic produce was established for employees; and a shuttle transported employees to the downtown Tacoma Farmer’s Market.
The Happy Heart Achievement Award is above and beyond the other designation and stands out as a leaders in work based health programs. MultiCare offers employees $300 for tobacco cessation pharmacotherapy; weight management programs; on-site classes on nutrition, stress management and
exercises; and chair massages at eight locations.
"This employer has been a great part of the WorkWell team. Their attitudes, enthusiasm, innovative ideas for wellness are second to none," said Joby Winans, Public Information Officer for the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
