President of MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital to retire
MultiCare Health System has announced changes to the leadership at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
John Long, President of MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, has announced he will retire from his position in April following the completion of the new Patient Care Tower, which opens to the first patients in February.
Mr. Long led Good Samaritan through a transformation during the last four years that improved the quality of care and expanded the services available to patients.
“I am so proud of what we have accomplished in Puyallup during the last four years. We have built a better hospital for the residents of East Pierce County. Through our affiliation with MultiCare, we have been able to create a very strong hospital and care system for the residents in East Pierce County including expanding services in many communities such as Bonney Lake, Eatonville and Sumner,” Long said. “As our new patient care tower opens next spring, it feels like the perfect time for me to close this chapter of my career and my life.”
He will be replaced by Glenn Kasman, Vice President of Professional Services and Business Development at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Kasman began his career as a physical therapist and has worked at Good Samaritan in various executive roles for more than 10 years.
“I am really excited to have the opportunity to continue the great work here at Good Samaritan as we expand our health care services to the East Pierce community,” Kasman said. “We at MultiCare are increasing access to excellent health care to residents in all the communities we serve.”
