“Multicare Regional Heart & Vascular Center, affiliated with Tacoma General Hospital, opened the first cardiac catheterization lab and was the first hospital to use a drug-coated stent in that region,” Becker’s wrote. “The hospital is recognized for excellence in cardiac care, including recognition from Blue Cross Blue Shield and the American College of Cardiology.”
Tacoma General and the other hospitals demonstrate “excellent clinical outcomes, cutting-edge research, cardiac risk-reduction programs and an innovative approach to cardiac care,” according to Becker’s. “They exemplify the purist of better cardiac care for all patients.”
Becker’s Hospital Review’s editorial team selected the hospitals based on their heart programs’ recognition for quality of care, clinical awards and research contributions to cardiovascular care.
Home to the highest level of cardiovascular care available in the region, the Tacoma General Heart Hospital clusters all our cardiac and vascular services in one location, providing patients with better connected care.
Services available at the heart hospital include cardiac and vascular operating suites, digital cardiac catheterization labs, brand new cardiovascular intensive care and coronary care units, and a chest pain cardiovascular short stay unit.
Previously, the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the Coronary Care Unit at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital was recognized as among the top in the country by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses by being awarded the Beacon Award of Excellence.
