Wait times at MultiCare Urgent Care centers now available online
We know that reading lobby magazines isn’t your top priority today. That’s why the current wait times at MultiCare’s eight Urgent Care centers are now available online and on our mobile site.
Updated every 10 minutes, the times are an approximation of how long it will take to go from check-in to exam room, based on clinic volumes.
“We are always looking for ways to put more information into the hands of our patients, so they can make informed decisions about when and where they want to be treated,” said Patrick Ward, RN, Vice President of Medical Group Operations for MultiCare Health System. “This is just one more example of how MultiCare patients are better connected to their care.”
MultiCare’s Urgent Care centers serve residents in Auburn, Covington, Gig Harbor, Kent, Lakewood, Spanaway, University Place, and Westgate in Tacoma.
For your convenience, the wait-time website also includes a map to each clinic and the hours of operation.
Because no appointment is necessary to receive treatment at MultiCare’s eight Urgent Care centers, the number of patients can fluctuate throughout the day. In the past, there was no way for patients to know how long they would wait, or which nearby clinic would be able to see them the soonest.
Now, with easy access to online wait times, people are better able to plan their visit. For example, if a family is an equal distance from two Urgent Care centers, they’ll now be able to choose the Urgent Care center with the shortest wait time.
Urgent Care offers treatment for people who are ill or injured and their condition doesn’t pose an immediate, serious threat to their health or life. Seek urgent care for conditions such as:
- Allergies.
- Cold or flu symptoms.
- Cough or bronchitis.
- Earache.
- Minor burns or bruises.
- Rash, poison ivy, allergic reaction.
- Fevers.
- Scrapes or minor cuts.
- Sprain.
- Minor fracture.
- Foreign object in eye or nose.
If you think someone could suffer significant harm or die without prompt attention, seek emergency care — or call 911 — immediately.
