  Flu season appears to be peaking earlier and affecting more people than last year in Western Washington, according to lab results from patients tested at the hospitals and clinics of MultiCare Health System in Pierce, King, Kitsap and Thurston counties.

  “I’m a kid nurse, so obviously I like to play with toys,” says Amy McGlinchy, RN, at the Mary Bridge Child Express in Gig Harbor. “I look for anyway I can connect with the kids. Sometimes when they first arrive, they won’t even look at me. But if I show them my LEGOs, then all of a sudden we’re best friends forever.”

  Dr. Craig DeSelms, a longtime MultiCare Health System physician, died Wednesday after living many years with prostate cancer. Dr. DeSelms provided care to patients at the MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic.
