Update: Siblings of any age may visit newborns at Birth Centers
On March 26, 2013, MultiCare Health System lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place to protect newborns in the Family Birth Centers. Siblings of any age are allowed to visit the Birth Center, but children younger than 13 who are not siblings of the baby are still restricted. Some restrictions are still in place at Tacoma General's high-risk nurseries, at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, and at the Mary Bridge Pediatric Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital.

When Bill Clark finished up his last round of chemotherapy at the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center in Puyallup, the nurses treated him to the foods he’d inexplicably craved during his six months of treatment: a giant Slurpee and three beef jerky sticks.
