Students with Hilltop Artists install glass art at Mary Bridge
Drop by drop, one glass sphere at a time, waves of color illuminated the sky and washed away the gray. Inside two newly built skybridges at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, students with the Hilltop Artists program carefully filled floor-to-ceiling windows with more than 1,500 hand-blown glass floats.

Update: Siblings of any age may visit newborns at Birth Centers
On March 26, 2013, MultiCare Health System lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place to protect newborns in the Family Birth Centers. Siblings of any age are allowed to visit the Birth Center, but children younger than 13 who are not siblings of the baby are still restricted. Some restrictions are still in place at Tacoma General's high-risk nurseries, at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, and at the Mary Bridge Pediatric Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital.

All clear: police responded to nonspecific threat at MultiCare
About 1 p.m. Tuesday, MultiCare Health System received a nonspecific threat at the main campus of Tacoma General Hospital and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Center. After investigating the threat, staff and law enforcement determined there was no danger and called the all clear about 3:30 p.m.

Mt. View students deliver cheer to kids at Good Samaritan
Staff, parents and students alike agree that Puyallup’s Mt. View Elementary School is a small school with a big heart. So when members of the close-knit community learned that a school employee’s 2-year-old grandson was in the hospital, they knew they had to help, and quickly collected more than 800 toys for children staying in the hospital.
