Pierce County Biggest Winner

Pierce County Biggest WinnerMultiCare Center for Healthy Living, in partnership with Pierce County Gets Fit, is launching the fifth Pierce County Biggest Winner program. The 2011 program will include 5 Communities** in Pierce County. Each community** will be represented by 4 members to compete to lose weight over a 12 week period.

Pierce County Biggest Winner Communities program includes before and after health assessments, individual sessions with a registered dietitian and health and wellness coach, nutrition and fitness classes, a 12 week exercise program at the YMCA, and lots of encouragement along the way! Books and materials are provided and prizes will be rewarded for Pierce County Biggest Winners. The competition will begin on March 28th and end on June 11 at the Sound to Narrows, where winners will be announced and prizes awarded.

SCREENINGS
• Pre and post cholesterol and glucose testing
• Pre and post blood pressure reading
• Pre and post waist circumference measurement
• Pre and post body composition screening
• Pre and post fitness assessment

NUTRITION COUNSELING
As part of the program, participants will spend 12 weeks working with a MultiCare Registered Dietitian.
• 8 group classes primarily focused on nutrition, 3 classes extended in time to include time to check in with the dietitian
• One-on-one session with a Registered Dietitian
• Food and activity journals
• Calorie King Calorie Counter Book
• Weekly challenges
• Weekly in-class and online tracking of team and individual progress

FITNESS COUNSELING
As part of the program, participants receive a 12 week membership to the YMCA.
Other fitness benefits:
• Weekly group workouts lead by a Health and Wellness Coach from the YMCA
• "12 Week Program" at the YMCA with workout tracking / progress by Fit Linxx
 
 
**The Pierce County Biggest Winner Community program is closed to select community groups.  If you are not part of a community group that has been visited by a representative from MultiCare, you are not eligible to participate.**  Make sure to check out the Biggest Winner Series program for upcoming dates.
