MultiCare follows national guidelines for measuring the quality of care provided at our hospitals. We report our results each quarter to Hospital Compare, a national website sponsored by the federal government. We use the results to help us further improve the quality of the care we provide. These guidelines, which are based on best practices proven to save lives and enhance quality of life for our patients, focus on heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia, because these are the most common conditions that result in hospital admissions.

You'll find information here on how MultiCare's primary care physicians and outpatient clinics are doing based on national guidelines for recommended health screenings and for taking care of patients with chronic diseases. These guidelines are provided by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). We've adopted these guidelines because we know they help keep our patients healthy, improve their quality of life and help them avoid hospital stays.
