Start and Finish

All events start and finish in Vassault Park, at the intersection of North Vassault and North 37th Streets in Tacoma.

Directions to Vassault Park

From I-5 take Highway 16 West to Exit 3. Follow the signs to Ruston to get to North 37th and Pearl Streets.

12K Wave Start

To create a smoother and safer start for participants in the 12K run, the field will be started in three separate groups, or waves, at five-minute intervals. Your starting wave will be determined by your estimated per-mile pace (see entry form), and your colored bib number will be issued on this basis. Be sure to start with your assigned group so your finish time will be listed accurately in the race results. If you want to run with someone else, please select the same anticipated mile pace.

Express Bus Service

Pierce Transit will provide express bus service from the Tacoma Community College (TCC) Transit Center to the start/finish line at Vassault Park. Bus fare is $1.75/each way or $3.50 for a round trip/all-day pass. Pierce Transit will offer a Family Fare allowing up to 4 children ages 13 and under to ride for free with a fare-paying customer. All other discounts apply. Express bus service will run continuously from TCC to the intersection of 37th and Pearl Streets from 7 am to 12 pm.

To reach the TCC Transit Center, take Interstate 5 to Highway 16, take the 19th Street exit (westbound), proceed to the corner of 19th and Mildred Streets, where you may park for free. All buses are wheelchair accessible. Security will patrol the parking lot at TCC during the event.

Parking

Support the Wilson Ram's Girls Basketball team by parking at Truman Middle School (5801 N. 35th) $5.00.  All proceeds benefit the Lady Rams spring/summer basketball program.

Clothes Check

Free clothes check will be offered at the Vassault Park tennis courts the day of the event for participants with an official bib number. Please allow time for check-in process prior to the start of your event.

Weather

Race day starting time temperatures in recent years have been in the 60s (F) and have ranged from a high in the 80s to a low in the 50s. Prepare for a variety of weather conditions, and use the free clothes check to store extra clothing during the race.

Strollers, Baby Joggers and Pets

Due to safety and insurance concerns,wheeled devices, such as strollers, in-line skates or bicycles will not be permitted in the 12k walk/run. Strollers and baby joggers are welcome on the 5k course or the 2k Junior Shuffle course. Pets are not allowed on any of the event courses.

Food, Drink, and More

Complimentary fruit and drink will be available to registered participants after they finish, and a number of vendors will offer samples, products, and services for the entire family.

Race day images will be available for online viewing and purchasing through www.brightroom.com. Please provide your email address on your entry form for image delivery.
