Reinvesting in Our Communities
As a not-for-profit health system, MultiCare reinvests its income in the community to enhance and expand care services, and improve quality and safety of care. In 2009, MultiCare spent more than $258 million in major capital improvements includingthese projects:
- More than $153.3 million in investment in the new Dally Tower at Good Samaritan, part of a
$400 million investment - Over $19.6 million on the Milgard Pavilion, the Emergency Department Expansion for MultiCare Tacoma General and MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital
- Over $6.4 million on the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center with a greatly expanded radiation oncology center equipped with the latest technology
- More than $10 million in strategic information system investments including launching MultiCare Connect, the electronic medical record, at Good Samaritan Hospital that will further improve patient care delivery and efficiency
- More than $2.4 million investment in advanced imaging equipment
- More than $2.5 million on the Mary Bridge Olympia Clinic
