Type I Diabetes Mellitus

Title: A study comparing the efficacy and safety of a new formulation of insulin glargine and Lantus® injection in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus

Objectives: To investigate the efficacy and safety of a new formulation of insulin glargine and Lantus® in treatment of patients with type 1diabetes mellitus after 6 months of treatment.

Diagnosis or Condition: Patients with a diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes currently taking basal and mealtime insulin

Age: 18 yrs or older

Sex: Males and Females

Visits:  Patients will have office visits for a maximum of 54 weeks (2 weeks run-in followed by two 6 month treatment phases)

Stipend: You will be compensated for your time and travel
