|Institute for Research & Innovation|
MultiCare Investigators have led and participated in several research studies funded by prominent federal agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Since 1983, MultiCare has been the recipient of a National Cancer Institute (NCI) grant allowing MultiCare to offer a number of cutting-edge clinical trials to cancer patients. We are incredibly proud of 29 years of consecutive NCI funding and the work that our research team does to support cancer patients and their families. The Northwest Community Clinical Oncology Program (otherwise known as the NWCCOP) is based here in Tacoma with affiliate sites spanning as far north as Everett, Wash., and as far south as Portland, Ore. The NWCCOP also reaches as far east as Lewiston, Idaho.

Other federal research programs include pediatric oncology, cerebral palsy, stroke, juvenile diabetes, and infant care.
A major focus of the Institute is to increase our federal research program by providing the necessary infrastructure and research support to our talented and inquisitive investigators. Watch for more exciting information in this area of research in the coming months and years!
