Research OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
The Institute for Research & Innovation is also lead by a multidisciplinary advisory board. The Research Oversight Committee consists of members from various backgrounds and functions within MultiCare Health System as well as local participating physician groups. The Oversight Committee meets monthly providing guidance and feedback on the Institute’s strategic priorities and future.Institute's Leadership Team
Paul Amoroso, MD, MPH, Medical Director - MultiCare Institute for Research & InnovationDr. Amoroso joined the Institute in September 2011. He is a research epidemiologist with extensive experience in research administration. A specialist in Aerospace Medicine, Dr. Amoroso also has a background in Health Policy and Management. His primary research interests include leveraging technology and data to improve patient care, and building collaborative groups of investigators to conduct research on the cutting edge of medicine.
Richard Shine, PharmD, BCPS, Program Director - MultiCare Institute for Research & InnovationDr. Shine began his career as a pharmacist at Tacoma General Hospital in 1977. Since then he has worked in various capacities in the pharmacy and research departments at MultiCare. He chaired the Institutional Review Board at MultiCare for 12 years. He was the Manager of the MHS Research Service from 2003-2010 and managed the Northwest Community Clinical Oncology Program (NW CCOP) from 2005-2010. He is currently the Program Director for the MultiCare Research Institute.
Anne Reedy, MBA, BS, Manager - MultiCare Institute for Research & InnovationMs. Reedy joined the Institute for Research & Innovation in March 2011. She has over 14 years of experience in medical research in both federally and industry sponsored Phase II - IV clinical research. Most of Anne’s career in research has been in research administration for federal grants and contracts and providing leadership to research organizations whose focus is providing support to investigators in the solicitation and preparation of grant applications, grant management, research team support, and education of award and research regulations. Prior to joining the Institute, Anne served as the Chief, Research & Development at a national nonprofit research organization supporting military medical research.
Sandra Reilley, MD, CPI, Supervisor - MultiCare Institute for Research & InnovationDr. Reilley joined the Institute in 2010 as an Advanced Professional Research Coordinator and then was promoted to Supervisor in late 2011. As a certified Physician Investigator, Dr. Reilley brings a unique and invaluable perspective to the day-to-day management of the clinical research team. She has over nine years of experience with Phase I-IV clinical research having served a few different research organizations as a Physician Investigator and certified coordinator.
