The MultiCare Mary Bridge Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Clinic is here for children needing special care. The Mary Bridge Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Clinic offers complete diagnostic services, treatment, consultation and education for infants, children and adolescents with endocrine and metabolic disorders including:

  • Delayed or advanced growth and development or puberty
  • Calcium abnormalities
  • Hypothalamic, pituitary, thyroid or parathyroid disorders
  • Obesity
  • Testicular and ovarian disorders
  • Type 1 or juvenile diabetes

A Multidisciplinary Team

The clinic's multidisciplinary care team is specially trained in pediatric care, including endocrinologists, pharmacists, psychologists and social workers, as well as nurse educators and dietitians who are certified diabetes educators.

Specialty Care Close to Home

In addition to the services offered at our Tacoma Health Center, our team makes regular visits to our specialty clinics in Olympia, Puyallup and Silverdale, so that children can get outpatient care closer to home.

Education and Consultation

Mary Bridge offers diabetes education for children and their families from certified diabetes educators, who have specialized in pediatrics. We provide both inpatient and outpatient education programs.

Our diabetes education program includes:

  • Brief, age-specific programs
  • Comprehensive group classes
  • Individualized education for children and families
  • Phone consultations available for families, school nurses and other care providers
