When a child becomes ill or gets injured, it's important to get treatment as quickly as possible.
MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital treats more than 30,000 patient visits annually through our pediatric Emergency Department. Our board-certified pediatric emergency physicians staff the emergency department 24 hours a day.
Pediatric emergency physicians work as a team with pediatricians, subspecialists, registered nurses and paramedics who are specially trained to provide care for ill and injured infants and children.
Mary Bridge serves as the state-designated Pediatric Level II Trauma Center for Southwestern Washington, and provides regional pediatric trauma care for Pierce, Thurston, South King, Lewis, Grays Harbor and North Pacific counties and beyond.
Our pediatric trauma center is supported by air services to a rooftop helipad, and a dedicated pediatric ambulance and critical care transport team. Our dedicated team of pediatric specialists and support staff includes board-certified pediatric specialists in emergency medicine, pediatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and pediatric critical care, including extracorporeal life support (ECLS).
The trauma center also has dedicated pediatric hospitalists, orthopedists, neurologists, plastic surgeons and anesthesiologists, as well as pediatric nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, neuropsychologists, sports medicine and many other professionals all working together to care and treat the unique needs of each child.
