Visit Flow

A medical assistant takes your child’s, height, weight, and blood pressure and reviews medications, allergies and medical history. The Pediatric Endocrinologist does a physical exam and reviews lab findings related to health risk of overweight.

A dietician and social worker then interview the family members to get a complete picture of environmental, psychosocial and medical influences on weight and health.

At this point the family returns to the waiting area (5 – 10 minutes). The Pediatric Weight & Wellness Team members review the findings and complete an assessment summary and recommendations. The family returns to the exam room to review the summary and to set goals for the next steps in the program.
