Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery
A multidisciplinary team approach is used in the treatment of children of all ages. This team draws on the expertise of specialists in many fields, including plastic surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, genetics, speech pathology, otorhinolaryngology, oral surgery, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
The Maxillofacial Review Board coordinates treatment for children up to age 21 with cleft lip and/or cleft palate, velopharyngeal insufficiency, or other maxillofacial conditions. This program is designed to aid families and primary care providers in the treatment of children whose needs are complex, and who require the coordination of multiple health care specialists.
Mary Bridges participates in the Southwest Washington Maxillofacial Review Board with monthly meetings facilitates communication between all disciplines involved. A Southwest Washington Maxillofacial Review Board coordinator works closely with the staff and families at Mary Bridge to care for these patients.
We provide evaluation, treatment with on-going education on the following:
- Benign and malignant neoplasms of the scalp and skin
- Birthmarks
- Cleft lip and palate
- Cranial abnormalities
- Cystic Hygroma
- Dog bite
- Ear deformities
- Facial deformities
- Gynecomastia
- Craniosynostosis
- Hypertrophic scar or atrophic scar
- Microtia
- Nasal or Deviated Septum Deformity
- Polydactyl fingers and or toes
- Post-traumatic deformities
