Children can receive high quality specialized pediatric gastroenterology care closer to home at the Mary
Bridge clinics in Covington, Puyallup, Olympia or Silverdale, as well as our main campus Health Center in Tacoma. The Gastroenterology and Nutrition Program offers a comprehensive program that serves children of all ages-from prenatal to young adult-with a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.
So whether children receive care at any of our outreach clinics or in Tacoma, they will be seen by the same highly skilled physicians, nurses and health professionals who have made Mary Bridge the name you trust.
A Comprehensive Offering of Services
Mary Bridge Gastroenterology and Nutrition Program offers consultation and diagnosis through multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient treatment.
Services offered:
- Diagnosis and treatment of multiple gastrointestinal disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, short bowel syndrome, failure to thrive, feeding difficulties, gastroesophageal reflux, gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, constipation, motility disorders, and liver disease
- Motility studies: esophageal, anorectal, and biofeedback training
- Encopresis and Constipation Clinic
- Pre- and post-liver and small bowel transplant program provided in conjunction with Stanford University
- Special procedures: colonoscopy, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, liver and rectal biopsy, hydrogen breath test, pH studies, impedence pH studies
- Feeding team for children with feeding problems
- Feeding tube placement provided by surgeon or interventional radiologist
- Feeding management provided by GI Clinic staff

From the moment a patient is referred to the Mary Bridge Gastroenterology Clinic, our physicians and health care professionals will keep the child’s primary care provider informed on the status of their patient. And we pride ourselves on being family friendly— taking the time to answer any questions patients or their parents may have. Our providers are available for consultation for referring physicians 24 hours a day.
