Choosing a Provider

Pediatricians (MD)
Pediatricians are medical doctors (MD) with special training and board certification to provide general care for babies, kids, and teens. They provide well-child exams, immunizations and treat common childhood illnesses, as well as sudden and ongoing illness. Pediatricians will refer a patient to a pediatric specialist for anything more serious beyond general care. Pediatricians can be great listeners and are good at explaining medical concepts in a way that's easy to understand.

Nurse Practitioners (ARNP)

ARNPs have an advanced degree and board certification in a specialty, such as pediatrics or adolescent medicine. They can do initial physical exams, perform some tests and procedures, write prescriptions, and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
